California Motocross
and
Popular OHV Areas

Here's a hookup on the best California motocross tracks from SoCal to the Central Coast area all the way to Northern California. Some of these are the same national tracks where the AMA holds their Pro Motocross races, as well as some of these facilities being the same facilities that hold WORCS events, and with Glen Helen on the list below which is where the USGP has been held, you can get a feel for the track that the elite's do batttle on or you can even ride, or race under the lights at a few of these other places, along with some of them even providing supercross tracks, and pee-wee style tracks, while others offer vet or vintage style tracks and off-road or endurocross sections.

If you happen to be on this page because you're planning on traveling within the state of California, and you want to know where the best Californian motocross facilities are located so you can stop along the way and ride... Great!! But I'm not lettin' off there. I'm even going to let you in on a resource you can check out that has maps and other info in the event you want to hit some of California's OHV areas, so make sure you check out my personal recommendation below the listing of tracks.

If you arrived at this page from a search engine query, and have not yet seen the list of tracks by state elsewhere on this site, be sure to check out the motocross track listings by state.

For those of you that just want to stay home, or go out to the property you or a friend has, and build your own motocross or supercross practice track to train or ride on, here are the best track building tips for that.

And... If you know of a California motocross facility or other sweet riding spot you would like to see on this site, be sure to check out the user submitted tracks page, or even take a look at some of the other locations viewers have passed along

Alright, Got some good national caliber California motocross tracks in your sights, and you know where you're going to ride? Now you might want to check out the link below for more info on places to hold the gas on apart from the California motocross facilities listed above, as the link below directs you to a site with maps, trail difficulty ratings and other details provided by the California Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division folks, and it's an excellent resource on some other sweet places to ride, as they've got all the winding trails and challenging terrain scouted out and broken down from beginner level stuff, to the trails and riding spots for the most experienced pilots covering everywhere such as the:

  • Clay Pit
  • Oceana Dunes (Oceana Dunes was formerly known as "Pismo Dunes")
  • Prairie City Park
  • Carnegie Recreation Area
  • Heber Dunes
  • Hungry Valley and...
  • Ocotillo Wells
