Here's More About It:

Title: 1988 model (Frame, Swingarm, Linkage, rear wheel) Engine: 2000 Model Year (MY) Body: 2005 MY Seat: 2008 MY Forks, Triples, Front wheel: 2001 Yamaha WR250F USD KYB 46mm (0.62 kg/mm springs. I still have the stock WR springs.) Shock: 1996 KLX650R with a gen 2 KLR shaft and clevis. 7.7 kg/mm spring Note: I had to install 1.5" lowering links to account for the additional length of the shock. The bike sits at approximately stock seat height. Engine mods: EM Doo w/torsional spring, EM 685 kit, carb drilled with KLX needle, Thermo-bob, KLX right side radiator, KLX radiator catch tank installed at back fender, Heavy duty clutch springs Pro-Circuit T4 slip-on with spark arrestor. I think it could stand being repacked. Radiators are aftermarket and new. I shimmed the valves when I did the 685 kit (~4000 miles ago), so they should still be in spec on clearance. I also removed the starter interlocks, so whenever you hit the starter button, it will turn the starter. I did that to minimize potential electrical gremlins. It has SW Motech crash bars. I added a gusset to them to prevent vibration. They were vibrating at 2500 and 5000 rpm, which was really annoying. The skid plate I have on it is aluminum and I have no idea who made it. MSR AOF clutch lever, MSR shift lever, prevailing torque nut on the countershaft. Located 9 miles east of Parkersburg, WV. Pickup only. Willing to drive up to 60 miles to meet. It developed an oil leak between the cases under the starter last year , so when I did the 685 kit, I split the cases to fix that leak. Replaced all gaskets and seals; I didn't want anymore leaks developing. The bottom end was still solid without much wear. I went ahead and rebuilt the water pump too. If you are on the ADVRider forum, I have a partial build thread there. Search "Another KLR650 Suspension Mod...Piggyback Shock & USD Fork"
