Here's More About It:
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE A rare and very original 1968 CL175K0 Sloper. This was the only year Honda made the 5 speed 175cc in the sloper design. Many of the few that are left have been put on the track with the AHRMA folks. I race, restore and rebuild old Hondas. This project was a restoration using as many of the original parts and OEM items as possible. The engine and frame are original to the bike, if you know old Honda?s the frame and engine numbers never match exactly. In this case they are well within 50 of each other. The frame and swingarm have been powder coated. Other small parts have had the rust removed and were painted or plated. The engine top end was overhauled using new Honda 1mm O/S pistons, rings & wristpins. The cylinders were professionally bored and honed to match the pistons. The engine has less than 50 miles on the rebuild. The cam shaft was replaced with a lower mileage unit. Valve lifts were checked and within specifications. New timing chain, valves, valve springs, and seals. All gaskets and oil seals replaced. The bottom end and transmission was inspected, shifter forks replaced. Engine has been completely gone through. *Despite the mileage on the Odometer, this bike is very "new". The carburetors and petcock were rebuilt, new fuel lines and filters. Original, very clean, air filters. Front forks rebuilt, new seals and oil, bushings checked for proper fit. New tires, tubes and rim strips. New front and rear brake shoes, bearings replaced. New front brake and clutch cable. New chain, sprocket damper inserts replaced in rear hub. New MotoBatt MB9U AGM battery. Headlight, tail lights and turn signals work well. Horn works. All lights in the speedometer work. The paint on the tank and side covers is original. There are small nicks consistent with age however is in very good condition. Tank badges are original. The chrome is in great condition for its age. The headers and silencer are original and are in very good condition. The seat is in excellent condition for its age. Several parts have been stripped of rust and re-plated including the header clamps, sidestand and driven sprocket. Overall this is a very nice bike as is, or could be easily taken to the next level. The 1968 CL175?s are hard to find in this condition and do not come up for sale often. Don't let this one get away! This motorcycle is sold As-Is with a Bill of Sale. The VIN inspection has been recently performed by local law enforcement, and is clear. I can provide the buyer with the original signed document. I would be happy to file for title if you cover the cost. I hope the pictures are sufficient, if not please let me know and I will take more. A PayPal deposit of $500 is due within 24 hours after auction. I would be glad to assist with shipping however will not crate. All reasonable offers considered
