Here's More About It:
1971 Yamaha AT1 MX. Pretty much all original, it's easier to list what's not. Webco style air cleaner, after market expansion chamber (the original comes with the bike, the screen is cracking so I took it off to save it from further damage), Progressive shocks and the rear rim and spokes have been replaced. What's original: Handlebars, lever perches, grips, footpegs, forks (no rust at all on fork tubes), oil injection still in working, gas tank, seat (no rips), rare alloy front fender (there is a crack in the fender), all the cables have been replace with OEM cables. I've raced this bike dozens of times in the last 3 years and had a blast. It gets so much attention, I've tried to keep as stock as possible, instead of trying to make a real competitive racer out of it. It still runs the 18inch front wheel with a trials tire on it, which makes for some interesting cornering. It was the only 125 to climb the hill at the Hell On Wheels Halloween Hillclimb 2 years ago, its finished well twice at A Day In The Dirt Vintage Class and dozens of other 1st place finishes at CALVMX and ARX races. If you're into racing it, it wouldn't take much to trick it out, it would be competitive in the sportsman class speed wise, it's only held back by the 18inch front wheel and suspension. The bike is in the Los Angeles area and although I can't help much with shipping I can make myself available for pickup. Thanks for looking.
