Here's More About It:
YAMAHA CT1 175cc TWO-STROKE STREET-LEGAL DIRT BIKE 1973 Yamaha CT1 175cc street or dirt bike for sale. Runs great, starts right up, shifts well into all five gears—works as it should, down to the horn and turn signals! It's currently had a tune-up, a new battery, fairly new tires. This is one of Yamaha's famous single cylinder two-strokes. They were a very popular bike and sold in the thousands. Many, like this one, are still going strong, a testimony to its basic and sturdy design. The bike is simple to operate, cheap to own, easy to start (kick!), and easy to repair—fewer moving parts than a four-stroke so less to adjust or fix. And NOS and used parts are readily available on ebay and pretty cheap. It currently has fairly new street tires on it and is geared for the street, but dirt bike tires are still easy to find in its wheel size (18"). I think I have a larger tooth rear sprocket that I'll throw in if you wish to ride in the dirt. My son learned to ride motorcycles on this bike, so it's easy to ride and fun! A great first bike or play bike. Though it is 46 years old and unrestored, it is in good condition and has all the original equipment, including a rack for packages. Currently mileage is 7000+. It has the small dents and scrapes you'd expect for its age, but pretty nice for that many years. It has a soft, shallow dent in the gas tank and another in the oil tank, but both are nice and do not leak. The seat is well padded and comfortable, and the seat cover is not ripped, though it has three small punctures, two on one side and one on the other (see photos). It needs a headlight bulb, but that's about all that's wrong with it! I may even have a spare bulb to go with it. NO MAJOR REPAIRS NEEDED! I'll even throw in a well-used manual. The bike is currently legally registered in California on a NON-OP registration. Bike comes with pink slip and copy of the NON-OP registration info—so it will be easy to register. After full payment is made, you're welcome to pick it up in person or have a shipping company do so. I WILL NOT ARRANGE SHIPPING—please don't ask—but I will supervise loading if desired. — Low starting-bid and no reserve! —
