Here's More About It:
A rare and almost extinct bike. Another West Texas rust free find. This particular bike was very popular in the 70's. With its beautiful "Candy apple"paint & 5spd street or 5spd trail gears were changed with just a flip of a lever. Because of its small size, it was easy to load on a trailer, in the bed of a pick-up or to the back of an RV. You could ride this bike on the street and if you happen to see some trails, put it in neutral, flip the lever and you're in trail gear. It was that easy. This was a one owner all original bike. I am the second owner. Due to its 45 yr age and everything was there, it did need some attention. I replaced the fork seals/dust boots, all the external engine seals/gaskets, rebuilt the carb and petcock. Removed the exhaust pipe and burned out all the carbon build-up. Clutch cable was replaced. Tires/tubes replaced. Rear wheel bearings/seals replaced. Front bearings /seals were good (repacked bearings). Installed new battery. Fuel tank looks brand new inside. Replaced gas cap gasket. Top of tank paint is faded in the middle and has a small ding. Side paint looks good, has a ding on each side hardly noticeable. All the electrical work. Starts 1st kick. Runs as new. So, after all said and done(repair & detailing) this bike looks and sounds awesome. Doing a full restoration on this bike would only destroy the character this bike has.Note! All the hard to find parts replaced are NOS. I am a motorcycle mechanic by trade. Currently run my own repair shop in Lubbock. Have been in business over 20 years. I have sold lots of West Texas motorcycles and have a perfect feedback on all of them. If you have any questions or need additional pictures, just ask.
