Here's More About It:
1971 Yamaha AT1 with GYT Exhaust A Gorgeous Classic with fresh paint and over $2,000 in restoration work just completedWe purchased this AT1 from a Nevada collector earlier this spring. The bike had only 1,800 factory miles & sported its original tin set, fenders, gauge cluster, and turn signals.A photo of the bike when it arrived is included in the gallery & in our video below. After getting the bike, it was refreshed with new fluids, new period correct tires, and a brand new Yuasa battery. The turn signals, headlight & taillight, gauges, etc were stripped. A genuine OEM Yamaha GYT Kit Exhaust was installed ($495 off eBay). Local Yamaha Enduro enthusiast Scott Majek painted our spare Yamaha AT1 tank with an RT1 Black with Red Stripe OE Yamaha paint scheme. The bike starts easily with the electric start or kicker. The transmission feels as you'd expect of a bike with 1,800 miles. It runs excellent although the clutch slips a bit under hard acceleration (Some clutch plates are sticking together from sitting for years in private museum storage) - this is an easy problem to fix we just have not addressed it at the moment. Check out this video to see the demonstration start-up & ride, a full explanation behind the build & why it's being sold, and even a look at some other bikes from the Bob Myers collection this AT1 was purchased from: 1971 Yamaha AT1MX - YouTube Video will open in a new window Using the eBay App? Even in cases where we have completely recommissioned a motorcycle that is now in flawless running/ operating condition, new problems & idosyncrasies can arise over-time from sitting or regular use.If you leave your bike with us for longer than three weeks before pick-up, we recommend a long-term storage prep by our staff ($90). Great people, honest and professional. Looking forward to the museum opening. Best of luck to Ken and your people!” – John Tylawsky “Great bike and great experience. Everyone I dealt with was helpful and made the transaction easy. The bike was just as advertised.” – John Gandy "In this crazy world where 'buyer beware' has gotten completely out of hand it's a rarity to run into people like the Kaplans. The old school way of doing business is alive and well here. Honesty, customer satisfaction, lightning fast follow up and a love of motorcycles is how things are done here. Truly refreshing! We had a tiny hiccup with our transaction and they solved it faster than I thought was possible. Not only would I buy another bike from them but I would refer my Mom to these guys!
