Trey Canard and Ryan Morais's
2012 Supercross Crash

Trey Canard, #41, A Honda favorite, and former SX lites champion, along with Ryan Morais unfortunately crashed together in the Main on the first lap of the 3rd round of the 2012 AMA Supercross held in Los Angeles Dodger Stadium on 1-21-2012. It appears that Trey got some banner wrapped up in his rear wheel and was unable to get the power down necessary to clear the first triple right out of turn 2-3 so he doubled it. Unfortunately this got Trey landed on by Ryan Morais which resulted in Trey and Ryan going down, and a subsequent Red Flag of the race.

This was a nasty crash considering Trey got landed on and rumors have it that Trey and Ryan were knocked unconscious with Trey suffering damage to his T10-T12 Vertebrae, while Ryan also suffered a broken jaw. Additionally, it appears that Trey was to undergo surgery shortly after in response to the spinal injury so be sure to keep both of these riders in your prayers.

We do hope to see both of these riders healthy and injury free soon, but remember, this falls right on the heels of past injuries and bad luck Trey has been suffering and ranging from his crash here in 2011, to his Broken Femur at the 2011 Washougal Outdoor National, and that with a Supercross delaying collarbone injury while practicing for the upcoming 2012 SX season, we certainly wish Trey better luck going forward, and hope to see Trey and Ryan healthy and lined up soon!!
